CORPORATE & COMMUNITY TRAINING

  • Lake Tech was represented by Laurie Bryant at the monthly meetings of the Mount Dora Chamber, East Lake County Chamber, Tavares Chamber, Commercial Contractors Association, and iBuild Central Florida this past week.  She also attended the quarterly meeting of the Lake County Workforce Task Force Roundtable at the UF/IFAS Lake County Extension in Tavares.
  • Laurie Bryant had a chance to visit Hallmark Nameplate in Mount Dora and Fortress Solutions in Leesburg and talk to the VP, Leesburg Operations about workforce training needs. Hallmark Nameplate, Inc. operates from a 30,000 square foot facility in the heart of Central Florida. Their engineering and manufacturing expertise stretches across more than 50 years and thousands of products for the medical, computer, telecommunications, OEM and other industries. In addition to their product identification services, they offer extensive capabilities in complete electronic assembly. In January 2019 Fortress Solutions was named the leading market share vendor for the North American telecommunication third-party repair market.  Who knew this leader was located right her in Lake County?
  • Erika Greene from Elevate Lake and Laurie Bryant attended a tour and internship information session for the Mechatronics lab at Orange Technical College Mid Florida campus.  Their lab has a robotic arm, hydraulics and pneumatics trainers, electric motor modular stations, PLC trainers, a mechanical workbench, a maintenance cell, 3D printers, and more.
  • Students in the Intro to Culinary Arts course being held at the Leesburg Resource Center attended the monthly meeting of the American Culinary Federation meeting at Eustis High School, and the Annual Career and Technology Education Showcase at Leesburg High School where they had an opportunity to use their hospitality skills in a food truck.
