Lake Technical College is proud to announce that we are a certified National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) testing center.  As of 2012, ASE converted all certification tests to computer-based tests which are only offered at designated secure, proctored testing centers.  Lake Tech is the only certified ASE testing site in Lake County.  Students at Lake Tech in the Automotive Service Technology, Automotive Collision, Repair and Refinishing, and Diesel Technology programs are able to take their ASE Certification exams on site. In addition, automotive professionals from the surrounding area will also benefit from a local testing site as they progress through the various levels of ASE certifications throughout their careers.

ASE certifications are widely recognized among automotive professionals and the businesses that employ them. Individuals who hold an ASE certification have shown proficiency in specific competencies and are highly sought after by employers. Often, employers will hire and base salaries and bonuses on the number of ASE certifications that an individual has earned.
