Student Seminar – Jeffrey Albright of Thrivent Financial presented a Seminar to students on Setting SMART Goals on Tuesday. Students learned the difference between short, medium, and long term goals, the importance of planning, differences between needs and wants, and calculating the “opportunity cost” of a purchase.

Approximately 40 Lake Tech students attended this interactive seminar from Accounting, Administrative Office, HVAC, Enterprise Desktop, and the Culinary Arts program.

Career Success Center  College Central Online Job Board – We are excited to roll out our new online job board – College Central. It is a tool for students to be able to search for jobs, build online resumes and career portfolios, and read hundreds of career related articles. Workshops for Success – Workshops are FREE for current Lake Tech Students and are held in the Career Success Center on the main campus in Room 208A.  Students should be prepared to take notes by bringing a tablet, laptop, or the old-school method:  pen and paper.  Each workshop is 45 minutes.
