Spotlight on the new Financial Aid Specialist

Katherine Coy has joined the Lake Tech family as the newest member of the Financial Aid Department. The roving Friday Update reporter asked her a few questions so we could all learn more about her.

  1. Why did you decide to work at Lake Tech? “I was very impressed with my first contact with the school. The school really cares about its students and I wanted to be part of such a great team.”
  2. What are your hobbies or interests? “I like reading, trivia, karaoke, Green Bay Packer football, and I am a True Crime Fan.”
  3. Do you have a pet and if so, what kind? “My daughter has a 12 year old chorkie. She is the center of our house for sure. So lovable and really happy that my daughter who was sixteen at the time, chose to rescue a dog.”
  4. What is something that would surprise us about you? “My oldest sister and I married guys with the same last name but no relation. So my sister and I have had the same last name all of our lives!”

Spotlight on the new Practical Nursing Instructor

Catherine Smith has joined the Health Science Department as the new Practical Nursing instructor. Her class starts tomorrow, September 14!

  1. Why did you decide to work at Lake Tech? “I have always loved academics and I am thrilled to merge that love with my career in nursing. Choosing Lake Technical College was an easy one; reputation, faculty warmth, and proximity.”
  2. What are your hobbies or interests? “Travel, (not so much in 2020), gardening (I am a better planter than tender, and reading. Groucho Marx said it best, ‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside, it’s just too dark to read’)”
  3. Do you have a pet and if so, what kind? “Loki posing in her Dog Trot costume, clearly elated.”
