LTC receives $5,000 in grant funds

Lake Technical Center proudly announces the receipt of grant funds from the Mount Dora Community Trust, administered by The First National Bank of Mount Dora. The $5,000 grant will be used to establish two scholarship funds for Mount Dora area students. One fund will be used to assist with tuition costs for eligible adult education students studying for the GED examination and testing fees for the exam. The second fund will be used as $500 scholarships for five Mount Dora area residents to transition from GED into career and technical education training programs at Lake Tech.

Lake Technical Center is implementing Career Pathways, a nationwide initiative, to systematically transition adult education students to postsecondary and employment opportunities. In today’s economy, scholarship funds are very helpful to students enrolling in the GED class and GED recipients transitioning to a Lake Tech program.
