LIVE IT RIDE DONATES $13,000 FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AT LAKE TECHNICAL COLLEGE

LIVE IT Events presented Lake Technical College a $13,000 check to benefit students during the 2023-24 academic year. These funds were raised at the second annual Mount Dora LIVE IT Ride, a community fundraiser where cyclists come from all over Florida to help students attend Lake Technical College.

The cycling event was held on March 11, 2023 at Gilbert Park in Mount Dora. Attendance increased considerably from 222 riders in 2022 to 400 riders in 2023. Tracy Draper, President of LIVE IT Events stated, “It was amazing to see hundreds of people come together to support students at our local trade school.” Participants were excited to ride 64, 30 or 19 miles and know that their registration fee was helping others with a sustainable career. 100% of net proceeds are dedicated to students who dreamed of attending Lake Tech but lacked the financial resources to do so.

Kimberly Frazier, CTE Program Manager, says, “LIVE IT Events donated $10,000 last year which provided scholarships to eleven students ranging from $500-1500 each. This year, we will be able to help even more students as they pursue their dreams thanks to the generous donation of these donors.” Students are able to apply for the LIVE IT Ride scholarship through Lake Tech’s Financial Aid Office.

The LIVE IT philosophy is to challenge yourself and impact the lives of others simultaneously. The donation will definitely impact a student’s educational trajectory at Lake Technical College.
