Lake Technical College is proud to announce that they are now a certified National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) testing center. As of 2012, ASE converted all certification tests to computer-based testing which are offered only at designated secure, proctored testing centers. Lake Tech is the only certified ASE testing site in Lake County. Students at Lake Tech in the Automotive Service Technology, Automotive Collision, Repair and Refinishing, and Diesel Technology programs will now be able to take their initial ASE Student Certification exam on site. In addition, automotive professionals from the surrounding area will also benefit from a local testing site as they progress through the various levels of ASE certifications throughout their careers.
ASE certifications are widely recognized among automotive professionals and the businesses that employ them. Individuals who hold an ASE certification have shown proficiency in the various competencies and are highly sought after by employers. Often, employers will hire and base salaries and bonuses on the number of ASE certifications that an individual has earned.
