Correctional Officers Graduate

Lake Technical Center’s Institute of Public Safety honored the 14 graduates of the Correctional Officer Basic Recruitopens in a new window program during a ceremony held on October 21, 2013. Sheriff Gary Borders, of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, delivered the Sheriff’s Address and Ms. Cornita Riley, Chief of Orange County Corrections, was the Keynote Speaker. The graduates were: Joshua Bryant, Markeda Clayton, Ronald Edgeman, Adrian Hill, Juliana Hines, Ryan Hummel, Devonte Jacobs, Brian Loperena, Jacey McKinley, Jordan Morrison, Guillermo Paz, Ryan Tarver, David Turcios, and Jaleyah Wiggins.

Program graduates may sit for the FDLE State Correctional Certification Exam; certification is activated upon employment. Graduates may receive college credit at Florida community and state colleges when transferring to a Criminal Justice A.S. or A.A.S. degree program.
