COVID-19 Protocol Update ~ 01/08/21

As we enter in January of 2021 and start our new semester, we have reviewed the Lake Technical College COVID-19 protocols that we followed during our Fall semester. We required all faculty, staff, students and guests to have their temperatures taken each day, wear masks while on campus and in the classrooms, and practice social distancing as much as possible. We implemented additional cleaning protocols and reduced the number of on-campus activities from outside groups to the very minimum. We had minimal cases across both campuses and off-site locations and we attribute this to the fact that everyone worked very hard to follow the guidelines that were set in place.

These protocols will remain in effect during the Spring semester or until such time that the CDC and Lake County Health Department change their procedures. We will continue to be very diligent in ensuring everyone on campus – from faculty, staff, students, and potential students – are as safe as possible from this virus.

COVID-19 Safety and Health Measures ~ 06/23/20

Lake Technical College faculty and staff continue to follow CDC guidelines while on campus. All employees are required to wear face coverings/masks when around other people. Social distancing is required as well. Bathrooms and all high touch surfaces are cleaned several times throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is available in offices, classrooms, and in the assessment center.

When students are on campus for skills training or testing, they are required to wear face coverings, social distance, and use hand sanitizer on a regular basis.

The week of June 29 through July 3, 2020, the Lake Technical College main campus will be closed for cleaning. The Institute of Public Safety will remain open.

On July 6, 2020, the main campus will reopen for students who wish to register for the fall term. You will be welcomed at the front door by a greeter and security and we ask that you answer three questions when you arrive. You must be able to answer yes; otherwise, we would like you to make a virtual appointment with us.

  • You are symptom free (fever, chills, shortness of breath, or sore throat) and are not being monitored for COVID-19.
  • You have had no direct contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is currently being monitored.
  • You have not returned from international travel, been on a cruise or been in contact with anyone who has.

Please wear a facemask when entering the building. If you don’t have a mask or face covering, we are happy to provide you with one. The number of students entering the campus will be monitored so we ensure appropriate social distancing at all times.
