The length of culinary school can vary from a few months to a few years. The standard length of culinary school in the U.S. is 6 to 12 months. At Lake Technical College, the Professional Culinary Arts & Hospitality program is 1,200 hours, or approximately 40 weeks.

In culinary school, you learn basic and advanced culinary skills and kitchen and restaurant management. At Lake Tech, you’ll master hands-on techniques in all of the following areas: breads, pastries, soups, sauces, salads, entrees, garde manger, ice carvings, & show pieces. When you graduate, you’ll be ready to begin a career at any high-end restaurant, and you’ll be able to cook from a recipe or create your own.

The culinary program at Lake Tech is just a fraction of the cost of other programs: approximately $4,800. Other culinary schools currently range from $30,000 to $125,000. Additionally, Valencia College grants fifteen hours of college credit towards the Culinary Management Program for graduates of Lake Tech’s Professional Culinary Arts and Hospitality program.
