Lake County Criminal Justice Selection Center (EOT)

Equivalency of Training (EOT) Information

If you are already a certified law enforcement, corrections officer or correctional probation officer in another state, the military or a federal agency, Equivalency of Training (EOT) is an accelerated process leading to Florida Certification. It allows qualified persons to become Florida certified without having to first attend a full law enforcement or corrections academy in Florida.

There are two forms that must be included with any EOT application submitted to the Lake County Criminal Justice Selection Center. These forms are: the Equivalency of Training Application; and the CJSTC 58 Form (2) from FDLE. Read the complete Equivalency Of Training Instructions prior to completing the applications.

For additional information or to request these forms, you may contact:

Ms. Donna Stephens, Coordinator
Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Phone: 352.343.3791
Fax: 352.253.4535

Lake Technical College, Institute of Public Safety
Lake County Criminal Justice Selection Center
1565 Lane Park Cutoff
Tavares, FL 32778

An application is not complete and cannot be processed unless you enclose payment. Check, money order, or credit card information accepted.

Cost of Evaluation:

Out-of-State Officers $210
In-State Officers $60
Military Officers $185

Receiving an assessment does not guarantee you a seat in a review (comparative compliance) class. You must call the Institute of Public Safety to obtain an application for admission.
