Construction Career Camp June 2020

Responding to the need for more skilled labor, Lake County Schools, Lake Technical College, Elevate Lake and iBuild Central Florida are working together to host a one-of-a-kind construction summer camp for middle school students. At this camp students ages 11 – 15 will try their hands at a variety of projects that introduce them to the skills and trades necessary to start a successful construction career.

Camp will be held from June 8 – 11 at Lake Technical College, 2001 Kurt St, Eustis, FL 32726. Camp runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is entirely free and lunch is provided each day. During camp, students will work with professionals in the trades of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more.

Many local businesses are contributing time, talent and money to make this project a success. Some participating business are: RoMac Building Supplies, Kelley Painting, Ross Plumbing, JA Croson, A-Lex Cor, Inc., Wise Carpentry, DPR Construction, and APG Electric.

The goal of the camp is to interest students in construction careers, where they can earn a great living to support their families without incurring college debt.

Camp is limited to the first 30 students, and registration opens on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020.  You can submit a student for registration at A registration form will be emailed to the address provided and must be returned within a week to reserve a spot in the camp.
