Fire Fighter Recruit Class

Hours: 440 hours, approximately 4 months (15 weeks)
Cost: Tuition is approximately $1,250.00, plus books & fees
Testing Requirements: National Firefighting Selection Inventory (NFSI)

  • Day Class - 8/20/12-TBA, M-R, 9:00a-6:00p; Night Class – 8/20/12-TBA, days vary, 6:30p-10:30p, based on enrollment/funding
  • Application Deadline: August 2, 2012, or until classes are full
  • Phisical Ability Testing (PAT) & Notification of Acceptance: August 4, 2012, 10:00a
  • Registration, Class Fees Due & Uniform Fitting: August 6 or 7, 2012, 8-3:30p
  • Physical entrance test fee of $25 due when application is submitted

Steps to Enroll

  1. Apply for financial aid, if applicable
  2. Complete a Lake Tech application
  3. Take the TABE and NSFI (National Fire Selection Inventory) tests
  4. Meet with a counselor
  5. Take the Phisical Agility Test
  6. Register and pay tuition and fees
  7. Purchase books and supplies
  8. Complete the new student orientation online prior to the first day of class
