Description: The position is responsible for answering phone call from customers who have either applied for or are already receiving public assistance benefits. Customers call to complete the required interview for initial or continued eligibility for various public assistance programs. This job requires utilizing the computer to enter information from the interview. Staff in these positions utilize a headset and are on the phone for the entire day.
Must be 18 years or older, graduate from High School or GED and one year customer service.
Skills and abilities:
- Bilingual Spanish or Creole prefer
- Ability to type quickly and accurately
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to adapt to change and be a team player
- Detect and evaluate potential fraudulent situations
- Detail orientated and enter data accurately into a computerized system.
- Possess excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with the public
- Be proficient in the use of a computer including excellent typing skills
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrate a high level of independence and initiative
- Ability to effectively communicate and convey thoughts and ideas
- Type 25 w/p/m
