Law Enforcement Officer Class of 2014

Lake Technical College’s Institute of Public Safety honored the nine graduates of the Law Enforcement Officer program during a ceremony held on May 15, 2014. Charles Broadway, Chief of the Clermont Police Department, was the Keynote Speaker. The graduates were: Cody A. Albridge, Lauren C. Brown, Travis J. Carpenter, Steven Q. Cox, Tyler L. Gregory, Lawrence A. James, Nicholas A. Magee, Troy P. McDonald, and Robert E. Peterson, Jr.

Program graduates who pass the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) certification exam are qualified to be police officers, deputy sheriffs, or state officers at most Florida law enforcement agencies. Many students are hired by agencies pending the results of the FDLE certification exam. Graduates of this program may receive college credit at Lake-Sumter State College or any other Florida state college when transferring to a Criminal Justice A.S. degree program.
