As Lake Technical College enters its 50th year celebration, we are proud to announce that our family is growing again with the addition of three new positions: Corporate and Community Training Coordinator, Dean of Student Services, and another Assistant Director.
Laurie Bryant joined our team as the Corporate & Community Training Coordinator in June. Laurie comes to Lake Tech with a wealth of experience both in industry and in education, most recently at Withlacoochee Technical College in Inverness where she taught a manufacturing and pre-engineering course. Prior to becoming an educator, she worked for more than 20 years in utilities and telecommunications as a manager, project manager, and engineer. Laurie will be responsible for developing and growing the customized training and specialty class offerings at Lake Tech and will serve as the community liaison to local businesses.
Kimberly Frazier has been named the Dean of Student Services. She has been the Campus Life Coordinator of Lake Technical College since 2014. Prior to coming to Lake Tech, she served for 10 years in the educational arena as a Language Arts teacher and Literacy Coach for Lake County Schools. Preceding her move to Florida, she was the lead Admissions Representative for the Golf Academy of the Americas in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for 3 years. As Dean of Student Services, Kimberly will oversee the Student Services area which includes Admissions, Testing, and Financial Aid.
Finally, Lake Tech welcomed Dr. Mark Crenshaw on July 1 as an Assistant Director. He has moved to Lake County from Georgia where he had an outstanding career in career & technical education both at the state department and most recently as the CEO of Hart College and Career Academy. He is a Navy veteran and has taught robotics, engineering, technology, AutoCAD, and other STEM related courses at both the middle, high, and postsecondary levels. One of his main responsibilities as Assistant Director will be to manage the programs housed in the new Center for Advanced Manufacturing which is set to open September 2017.
Over the past 50 years, Lake Technical College has always grown to meet the needs of the community and this year is no exception.
