The Financial Aid Office at Lake Technical Center assists students with financial assistance to attend school. Grants and scholarships do not have to be repaid; however, students must make satisfactory progress in their programs in order to continue to be eligible for awards.
All students seeking financial assistance at Lake Technical Center must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application is available online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

For many students, financial aid programs are paying educational costs and providing money to help with living expenses. The Financial Aid Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

VETERANS BENEFITS
Many programs are approved for VA. Eligible veterans may be certified for VA benefits through the Financial Aid Office.
The Bureau of State Approving Agency for Veteran Training has approved many of the certificate training programs offered at Lake Technical Center. Veterans should check with the VA Certifying Official in the Financial Aid Office (352.589.2250 ext. 127) to apply for or re-activate their VA educational entitlements. All required application forms are available in the Financial Aid Office.
Once the veteran has completed all of the required forms and submitted a certified copy of his/her DD214, the documentation is then forwarded to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) for processing. Upon completion of the first day of class, the enrollment certification is reported by the VA Certifying Official to the DVA for processing. It takes DVA a minimum of 4-8 weeks to activate benefits.
All students receiving Veterans’ Educational Benefits must maintain satisfactory progress in accordance with regularly prescribed standards and policies of Lake Tech. Specific details of the Standards of Progress and Attendance, as well as other information about VA benefits, are listed in Lake Tech’s 2011-2012 catalog.
